Once upon a time, not so long ago, there used to be a page called Informal Introduction here.If you , by some unfortunate and boring coincidence, have come looking for it,

However, for others, who get bored with themselves more often than not, I am trying to create a page that'd keep pace with me.Somewhat along the lines of my arbit outpourings page, but this one would be more strictly narcissistic. The usual details that everybody who hasn't come to the site by chance ,knows about: I study Neurosciences at Trinity College, Cambridge, I play the tablas(north Indian drums), I am passionately addicted to the music of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, I love fidgeting around with this website and have occassional pseudo-literary spurts of activity.( Short and sweet is the flavour of the day- previously I'd take three paragraphs to talk of the same thing!)

I also love watching movies, and have very high regard for accepted masters of the art ( especially Satyajit Ray, Nanni Moretti, Pedro Almodovar, among others) as well as [and this is important] some of the non-accepted ones (including, among others, makers of 'cheap' Bollywood comedies).

I  also like photography, though my only instrument till now has been a semi-automatic Nikon , which does not allow too much room for manouvre.

Reading books used to come a sweeping first among all my extra (and co-)curricular activities at one point in time, now it's much more of reading from the screen. For those among us who  lament the 'loss of the personal touch', I can only offer sympathy along the lines of the proponents of the printing press defending it against those who over-romanticised the beauties of the handwritten  word.

Utility grows to become art, if I am allowed to be crudely philosphical.

That's all  I can think about myself right now.Let me wait for the next big inspirational moment to add to this page!
